Our Sale Policy
We strive to consistently improve the quality of the animals that we breed.
Part of that goal is being selective about what happens to the kids we produce on our farm.
By buying a goat from us, you agree to these terms.
Reservations & Wait-List for Future Kids
We offer both a reservation option for kids from specific planned pairings — at a fee of $50 — as well as a free wait-list for available kids after reservations have been claimed. The reservation fee will go toward the final cost of the kid. Reservations are only available for doelings, as we do not sell intact bucklings until a pairing is proven.
Reservations and wait-list slots are first-come, first-served with priority to reservations. Once kids are on the ground, anyone with a reservation for that pairing will be notified via the method they have specified within 48 hours and will have 48 hours from notification to confirm their claim. After reservations have been either claimed or passed, we will begin contacting our wait-list with the same 48 hour window after notification to confirm your claim.
If no kids are born that match what you reserved, your reservation fee can be transferred to another pairing with open reservations, transferred to a future pairing, or refunded in full.
If no kids are born that match what you are wait-listed for, you will remain at the top of the wait-list for the next kidding.
Price & Payment
All prices are based on both the sire’s and dam’s genetic quality. Coat colors, coat patterns, flashiness, or extras are not considered in the pricing of any kid produced on our farm.
Registered doelings start at $200 from our first fresheners and prices go up from there. Unregistered, “pet-quality” goats will sometimes be available starting at $50 for bottle babies and $75 for weaning-age kids.
Discounts and prioritization will be available for those who purchase more than one goat together.
We do not sell intact bucklings from any of our pairings until that pairing proves to be good, healthy, and productive.
We require a deposit of either $100 or half the total sale price — whichever is less — which goes toward the final cost. Deposits are non-refundable if the buyer cancels or fails to complete payment by the pickup date.
We can accept cash, Venmo, or PayPal payments.
Registration Papers
If you are purchasing a registered goat, their ADGA paperwork will leave with them upon pickup. If you are purchasing a kid that is not yet registered, their ADGA paperwork will be mailed to you as soon as it is complete. The buyer will be responsible for transferring that paperwork into their name with ADGA.
Health
We guarantee that our goats are healthy when they leave our farm. Once they leave the property, no such guarantee is extended as we can no longer control what they are exposed to.
We test annually for CAE, CL, and Johne’s and vaccinate for CD&T on the vet recommended schedule. We are also in the process of verifying N/N Congenital Myotonia (CM) status on all goats in our herd and will be transparent about that status to any potential buyers.
We disbud between 3-10 days old unless otherwise specified. If you request that we do not disbud, then payment in full will be required by the time your kid is 2 weeks old.
Pickup & Transport
If you are purchasing a bottle baby kid, they can leave our farm no earlier than 2 weeks of age. This is so that we can make sure they are taking the bottle and growing well before handing them off. If you are purchasing a weaned kid, they can leave our farm no earlier than 10 weeks of age. This is to be sure the kid is properly weaned and doing well on solid foods alone.
Payment in full is required before any goat leaves our property. If pickup is not completed within 2 weeks of full payment, the goat will be considered abandoned and no refund will be issued.
We can meet buyers within a three hour drive of our farm for a fee based on distance traveled. Transport outside of that distance will be the responsibility of the buyer.
If you will be picking up at our farm, we ask that all visitors follow basic biosecurity practices when visiting our farm. This includes clean boots/shoes and using hand sanitizer before handling any of our animals.
Returns
The future health of our herd is of the utmost importance to us. Because of this, no returns of any sort will be considered if you are not a closed herd with biosecurity testing and measures in place.
Otherwise, we will take a goat back if a licensed veterinarian finds (within 3 days) that it was sick when you picked it up or the registration papers don't match the goat. In these cases, the cost of the goat will be refunded to you.
We will not take a goat back if you change your mind, the goat gets sick after pickup, or a doe doesn’t get pregnant (except in cases of congenital/genetic defects diagnosed by a licensed veterinarian).
